ISLAND OF MAUI ON FIRE
On July 11, 2019, “The Valley Isle” experienced over 9,000 acres of a Wild Brush Fire triggering road closures and thousands to evacuate in Central Maui, Northern areas of Kihei and Maala’ea. Hundreds took shelter in various parts of Kahului,Wailuku and Kihei.
Many stranded visitors arriving and departing to and from Kahului airport were unable to make their flights or were unable to reach their Vacation Resort Destinations.
Where it all began…… Waiko Road and Kuihelani Highway (Route 380). Route 380 is the Main Artery to the Honoapi’ilani Highway(Route 30)from Kahului Airport.

MAALA’EA Harbor is one of Maui’s Marine Activities and Boat Tour HUB for ocean activities such as MOLOKINI Snorkel Tours and Sunset Dinner/Cocktail Cruises.

As the Sun is blocked by clouds of smoke, the skyline lights up with a Orange & Red haze. Somewhat of a beautiful reminder of Nature giving back in times of discouragement.
